Name: AIM Webinar Invite: Massachusetts Pay Equity - New Updates
    Date: March 15, 2018
    Event Description:

The new Massachusetts Pay Equity law affects every employer in the state…even if your company is headquartered outside of Massachusetts.

Will your company be compliant by the July 1, 2018 deadline?
Join AIM, Genevieve Nadeau, Chief of the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Division, and other experts at one of two Webinars focused on details of the new law. The Massachusetts Pay Equity Act seeks to eliminate pay disparity between different genders for performing comparable work and becomes effective July 1, 2018.

AIM's Webinars will take place on March 13 and 15 and are a critical initial step toward understanding how your company can become compliant and avoid potential litigation.

Our panel will share newly-released information and guidelines regarding analysis and compliance, including:
    •    Overview of the Massachusetts Pay Equity Law.
    •    Who can use the Attorney General’s Pay Equity Calculator?.
    •    What constitutes "comparable work" and how is this determined?
    •    What is a self-evaluation and how do I conduct one?
    •    What justifies acceptable pay variances?
    •    How can pay transparency be implemented?
    •    How do you create and utilize a plan of remediation when pay disparities are found?

Because this law requires different compliance measures based on the size of a company’s comparable work groups, AIM is presenting two Webinars: one focusing on smaller employers, and a second to address the needs of larger companies.

The law defines large companies as those with 30 or more employees in the same job category or classification. A company may have hundreds of employees. However, if fewer than 30 of those employees fall into the same job classification, the company may pursue the smaller business option.

The March 13 webinar is for smaller companies that are more likely to be able to use the Pay Equity Calculator exclusively*, while the March 15 session is for larger businesses that may need more in-depth analysis.

*Employers who anticipate that all comparable work groups will fall below 30 employees in size, based on skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions.
